The state of Tocantins has the advantage of having the highest rate of growth in Brazil, which a company representative called to the attention of Eucatex when he came to look over the potential and productive conditions of the region.

Eucatex is the leading manufacturer of products for the construction industry and owns one of the largest suppliers of panels and slabs of wood fibres for the furniture industry.

“The company will have the full support of the state government to bring their investments to the region. It is of interest to state that new industry to settle here, bringing resources, new jobs and more dignity for the people Tocantins” said Eduardo Machado.

The company is interested in installing an industrial plant in Tocantins, according to the director Mark Nicolino. Roughly 1,500 direct jobs and 3000 indirect jobs will be generated if Eucatex goes ahead with their plans and invest $1 billion in the land, plant and timber production.

“The intention is to install an anchor that will enable the company, possibly pole furniture. This is a trend when it comes to a large industrial plant facing this sector. And the Tocantins is a region very promising as it offers high-growth and is also a new slice of the market where we can expand” stated Nicolino.

The benefits provided by the State for this venture are generous: tax incentives for both the investors and the company itself as well as the possibility of the enterprise becoming the hub supplier for the states of North and Northeast of Brazil.
